Stump Removal
We would like to introduce you to the most stubborn thing on earth, a tree stump. Worse than any mother-in-law or spouse. These leftover remains of a cut-down tree are difficult to remove from the ground. They are literally rooted to the ground and can pose a challenge to even the most die-hard DIY enthusiast. Fortunately here at Bloomington Tree Services, we have a range of specialized techniques to ensure that pesky stump no longer causes any hassles. So have a look below at our range of options and let's find what's right for you.
Digging It Out This is by far one of the most common ways to remove a tree stump. It is also the most labor-intensive. This solution is usually reserved for smaller to medium-sized stumps that do not require heavy machinery or chemical solutions. We start by digging around the roots to expose them. We then take an ax to separate all the roots from the actual stump. This effectively separates the stump from the very thing securing it to the ground. From here on it's as simple as pulling out the roots and removing the stump. You know what to do next! Stump Grinders These machines have absolutely revolutionized the way we remove larger tree stumps. They can even be used for smaller stumps should you have the money and need it done quickly. This wonderful machine grinds up the stump and its root system to about 1ft into the ground. We then simply fill the hole now created with the wood chips from grinding the stump and job done. It's as easy as that. We have a range of stump grinders to handle any size job you may have. Be it residential or commercial. Now let us handle your daily grind while you relax and watch the magic happen. Burning The Stump First and foremost we need to emphasize that this is not a common solution and is not allowed in some districts. So before we get ahead of ourselves, it's crucial to ensure that you are allowed to do it. Once this is confirmed and permission is granted the magic can begin. The process is simple yet needs to be watched over by professionals. We basically build a massive bonfire around the stump and burn it to ash. This can take up to several hours and will need a close eye to be kept at all times. Chemicals This solution has become a massive favorite among most of our clients. This is mainly due to it being so easy to access and implement. It is also by far and away from the least labor intensive and most of your costs are spent on the actual chemicals we use. We start by drilling several evenly spaced holes in the top of the stump. This is where we will then pour our range of high-quality potassium nitrate chemical solutions. This will quickly soften the wood. This process can take anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks. Then it's as easy as chopping it up and hauling it away. |
